It is with full hearts and a touch of bittersweet emotion that we share some important news: our beloved Family Minister, Claire Watson, will soon be transitioning off staff at Oceanside Sanctuary.

Recently, Claire was officially ordained as a minister in the United Methodist Church, an incredible milestone that opens the door to a new chapter. Claire will be returning home to North Carolina, where she has accepted a position as Youth Pastor at a large United Methodist congregation. We are not at all surprised that this opportunity found her; Claire’s gifts are many, and we know she will be a blessing to her new community. We also celebrate with her family, who are thrilled to welcome her back home.

Over the past two years, Claire has brought steadiness, depth, and joy to our youth and children's ministries. Her thoughtful leadership and warm presence have been a tremendous gift to our church family. She leaves behind a strong and beautiful foundation for the next person who will carry this ministry forward.

Claire’s final Sunday with us will be July 13th. After the service, we invite you to join us for a farewell celebration and a chance to express our well wishes, share memories, and send Claire off with our love and blessings.
