Season 11 of The Collective Table podcast will highlight stories of empathy. While some Christian leaders are promoting the idea that empathy is a sin, we think it is a vital aspect of love. Can you recall a time when your empathy for someone moved you to take action in ways that stretched you to grow?
June was a busy month at OSC! In addition to our Mission 2030 Dreaming Sunday, Pride Sunday, Fathers Day, and our annual Congregational Meeting, we also conducted our annual Supporting Member drive. Today we want to offer a sincere thanks to all who continued their Supporting Memberships and all who signed up for the first time.
In response to continued steady growth, The Oceanside Sanctuary members present at yesterday’s annual congregational meeting unanimously approved a change three proposals: 1) A chage to our bylaws, 2) our Fiscal Year 2025/2025 Board slate, and 3) Our Fiscal Year 2025/2026 budget. Below is a summary of the decisions made.
It is with full hearts and a touch of bittersweet emotion that we share some important news: our beloved Family Minister, Claire Watson, will soon be transitioning off staff at Oceanside Sanctuary. This past Saturday, Claire was officially ordained as a minister in the United Methodist Church, an incredible milestone that opens the door to a new chapter.
The Oceanside Sanctuary is a progressive, LGBTQ-celebrating, social justice community of faith located in downtown Oceanside. We are currently searching for several new team mebers to join our passionate and dedicated staff. Our open opportunity include:
Are you an organized person? Are you good with computers and software? Would you enjoy volunteering 3-4 hours per week in a positive and energizing environment? Then these new volunteer opportunities might be a good fit for you! Our church staff relies on office volutneers who give 3-4 hours per week to help make sure operations run smoothly at OSC.
As we near the final stage of our year-long Mission 2030 process, we are pausing to ask the question: What is the DNA of The Oceanside Sanctuary? What are deeply embedded values and impulses that make our church unique?
