At Oceanside Sanctuary, we believe that asking questions, exploring new perspectives, and engaging with thoughtful theology are vital parts of our spiritual journeys. We are thrilled to introduce our new Lending Library—a curated collection of religious texts, commentaries, and resources with a special focus on progressive Christianity.

Whether you are looking to dive into the contemplative wisdom of Richard Rohr, explore the expansive theology of Rob Bell, rethink scripture with Peter Enns, or discover new voices, our shelves are open to you.

A massive thank you to our dedicated volunteer librarian, Beverly, who has spent countless hours meticulously cataloging our collection. How to Borrow

1. Find Your Next Read

  • Search Online: Use our online database to search by author, title, or keyword (scroll to see keywords). Check the status to see if the book is currently available (note: we cannot offer reservations).

  • Browse in Person: Visit the library in the back room or the "Recommended Books" shelf in the church cafe before or after Sunday service.

  • Locate on Shelf: Books are organized alphabetically by the first three letters of the author’s last name.

2. Check Out (Sundays Only)

  • Find the Card: Once you have your book, locate the checkout card tucked into the pocket on the inside back cover.

  • Fill it Out: Clearly print your full name, phone number, and today’s date on the card.

  • Drop the Card: Place the completed card in the box located on the “Recommended Books” shelf.

3. Enjoy & Return

  • Borrowing Period: You are welcome to keep the book for up to one month.

  • Care: Please treat the collection with care and return books in the same condition you found them.

  • Easy Return: When finished, simply place the book in the return box located on the bottom shelf of the library unit.
