Hello OSC friends,
As The Oceanside Sanctuary continues to grow, we are finding the need to expand our leadership capacity. Toward this end, the OSC Board has approved a proposed change to the OSC bylaws to allow up to two more Board members. Specifically, section II.A.2 of our bylaws stipulate:
“The congregation, at its annual meeting, shall elect a slate of no less than five (5) and no more than seven (7) Elders to serve as the Board of Trustees (Elder Board) in an oversight role as representatives of the congregation.”
The Elder Board proposes to amend this range to 6 to 9 Board members. The new language proposed is as follows:
The congregation, at its annual meeting, shall elect a slate of no less than six (6) and no more than nine (9) Elders to serve as the Board of Trustees (Elder Board) in an oversight role as representatives of the congregation.
This change – in addition to a vote on our proposed Board slate and budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 – will be part of the agenda for our congregational meeting on Sunday, June 29th 2025, to convene after church at 11:30 AM.
If you have any quesitons about this proposed change, please feel free to reach out to Pastors Jason or Jenell Coker.
