The Dreaming Stage

We have completed our dreaming sessions

  • Dreaming is the 3rd stage of our Appreciative Inquiry process. We gathered as a congregation on June 1st and June 25th to respond to the insights from our “Discover” stage and dream together about possibilities for our future.

  • The OSC Board and Staff are currently in the process of taking all the data and analysis from the Discover and Dreaming stages and drafting the scope and language of our next Mission Commitment.

  • Throughout the summer, our whole congregation will be invited to provide feedback on the draft plan.

An Extended Declaration of Possibility for 2030

The Oceanside Sanctuary is a spiritually vibrant, radically inclusive, justice-rooted movement that integrates faith and justice to affirm and transform lives and communities.

We are a people called into radical love, opening wide the gates of welcome. Here, everyone arrives as their authentic self, seen, cherished, and embraced in wholeness.

We are rooted in the teachings of Jesus, translating spirit into action – feeding bodies, housing neighbors, and healing injustice with hands and hearts. We gather not only within sacred walls, but at school board meetings, neighborhood pubs and parks, and City council meetings.

In shared meals, laughter, music, and spirited dialogue, we are a community of belonging, where doubt is not feared, difference is not shunned, and the symphony of our diversity is our strength.

Children and young people grow in this place with bold compassion and sacred curiosity. They are affirmed as leaders and nurtured with justice, kindness, and joy.

Together, we imagine a world transformed – not by fear or division, but by empathy, courage, and connection.

Core Commitments:

  • Radical Belonging: We cultivate a safe and affirming spaces where authenticity is celebrated and diversity is sacred.

  • Faith in Action: Our spirituality compels us to engage boldly with systems of injustice, locally and beyond.

  • Holistic Partnership: We collaborate with civic, educational, business, and faith sectors to meet the needs of our neighbors.

  • Liberating Discipleship: Our community nurtures emotionally intelligent, compassionate, and justice-oriented leaders of all ages.

  • Living Story: We embrace storytelling and sacred imagination as vital tools for healing, connection, and impact.

WHAT COMES NEXT?
