A New Year. A renewed vision. An Invitation to join the mission.
As we step into a new year at The Oceanside Sanctuary and a renewed vision and mission, you are invited to lean into community and help us cultivate a Christian spirituality “reclaiming its calling to be known for love, liberation, and the celebration of God’s image in all people.”
Volunteering at OSC is more than an act of service, it is how we embody a better future together here and now. Whether you’re welcoming guests on Sunday mornings, nurturing children and youth, supporting our food pantry, helping with worship, communications, or meeting urgent needs in the community, every volunteer translates our shared values into living practice. What we do together shapes who we are becoming.
If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to step in, consider this your invitation. If you’ve served before and taken a pause, we would love to welcome you back. And if you’re new to OSC, volunteering is one of the best ways to find belonging and build meaningful relationships.
The work ahead is hopeful, sacred, and shared. This year, let’s move forward together rooted in love, committed to liberation, and faithful to the divine image shining in every person.
Our BIGGEST Volunteer Needs
There are lots of ways to volunteer at OSC but these are some of our biggest needs at this time. Click the button at the bottom of the page to get started.
Meetup Coordinators (6 spots available)
Meetups are small get togethers – usually in the Spring and Fall – to explore a topic, an activity, or build relationships around our common faith. Coordinators organize these Meetups, which can gather in homes, public spaces, or online. We provide all the training and resources you need.
Sunday Kids Team (4 spots available)
We are looking for people enthusiastic about creating safe and fun spaces for our kids to learn and grow on Sunday mornings. The commitment is typically one Sunday per month.
Welcome Team (4 spots available)
If you love making people feel welcome when they come to church, this is the team for you. Volunteers make coffee, setup communion, and greet people as they arrive. The commitment is typically one Sunday per month.
Invocation Team (3 spots available)
We need volunteers who are friendly and comfortable behind a microphone to help welcome people at the beginning of our worship gathering and lead the congregation in a brief prayer of invocation. We’ll train you and prove the prayer options from our list of invocation prayer.
