Hello friends,
Many of you know we (Jason and Jenell) will be embarking on a planned sabbatical leave next summer, from June through August and that we applied for a Lilly Foundation grant to cover some of those expenses. Many of you helped us with that grant as writers, editors, and contributors to our public feedback process.
Unfortunately, we received news last week that we were not selected as a grant recipient.
We are, of course, disappointed! But, such is the way of grant applications and philanthropic giving. However, we are incredibly grateful for all who pitched in and helped with that process and for a church that is supportive of our need to take time away for personal renewal next year. We look forward to sharing our experiences with you when we return to our ministry in the fall of 2027.
