Back to full in-person gatherings Sunday, June 20

Hello OSC friends and family, I hope you are finding meaningful and inspiring ways to remember Juneteenth today! My big news today is that, in accordance with the State of California’s new guidelines announced on June 15th, we are hosting our first full in-person church gathering tomorrow, June 20th at 11 AM. Here’s what’s new for tomorrow:

Pride, new staff roles & getting back to a unified Sunday gathering

Believe it or not, summer is just around the corner, the pandemic appears to be winding-down, and there are lots of new things happening at The Oceanside Sanctuary. We are inching our way closer to a normal Sunday Gathering by combining our two gatherings into one unified 11 AM worship service beginning THIS Sunday, June 6th

A letter from our new Music Minister, Joey Pearson

I am thrilled to be part of The Oceanside Sanctuary! It is humbling for me to be called to grow in my journey as a musician and Christian with you. As a child, I never thought it possible for a Queer Christian to step into the role of Music Minister. This is a dream come true—a prayer answered. God’s calling is evident in my life, and I am grateful for the opportunity to answer that calling with you.

We are very happy to report that Joey Pearson has joined the staff as our new Music Minister. Joey is passionate about his faith, eager to grow in his calling, and is enthusiastic about the potential for ministry at The Oceanside Sanctuary. He brings amazing experience as a musician, singer, songwriter, recording artist and worship leader in a wide variety of church settings. We are excited to see what God’s Spirit has in mind for Joey in our church.

Our plan for returning to in-person Sunday gatherings

As many of you know, our staff and Board have been working for the past several weeks on developing our plan for returning to in-person worship services. Many of you recently participated in our congregational survey to help us gauge how ready we are to begin moving toward re-opening. You can click here to see the results of that survey. Today I want to share our plans with you.
