This meeting is for anyone who would like to support the upcoming Live Free Campaign’s action event with OPD Chief Fred Armijo. In community organizing, an “authorization meeting” is a planning meeting, and this is a really BIG one, because we will be asking Chief Armijo to consider some important policy changes! We need lots of people to come and support this.
We see radical hospitality as an integral aspect of the gospel of Christ. Every Sunday, we welcome all to this church to spread a gospel of inclusion. This position is an opportunity to form strong bonds with church members, be a welcoming presence for others, and set a positive tone for how people experience our church.
Have you ever felt like you were outgrowing your religious beliefs? Have you ever wondered why some religious people are hostile to change, while others are at peace with progress? Have you ever wondered why some faith traditions seem concerned with reconciliation and justice, while others seem stuck in stages of fear and control?
Just as forming an Anti-Racism Team has helped us to work toward becoming a more anti-racist congregation, we need a small team of 4-6 volunteers to form an Open & Affirming Team. This team will be tasked with helping the congregation to think through the issues we must address in order to be a truly empowering, open, and affirming community for LGBTQ persons.
