Support our community of resistance

“As it is written, 'The one who had much did not have too much, and the one who had little had no lack.'"

~ 2 Corinthians 8:15

Hello friends,

For more than 150 years, this church has been part of the Oceanside community. Eight years ago, we reimagined the legacy of “First Christian Church of Oceanside” and birthed “The Oceanside Sanctuary,” a community committed to following the way of Jesus and reclaiming Christianity for love and liberation.

Today, that mission comes alive every week in so many ways. Children and youth are discovering a faith rooted in curiosity and compassion. People of all stripes gather here at church, as well at homes, parks, and pubs to worship, learn, and connect through our common faith. Our Sanctuary Pantry provides food to hundreds of local households each month. And our justice ministries help us put faith into action as we seek to embody the love of Jesus in our community.

You see, we believe that community is resistance.

In a world that can feel increasingly isolated and divided, choosing connection, compassion, and belonging is a powerful act. It happens because people like you believe in creating a community where all are welcome, all are valued, and love is put into practice.

Each June, we invite those of you who consider The Oceanside Sanctuary to be your faith community to become Supporting Members through a recurring financial gift. If you’re already giving regularly and would like to continue at your current level, thank you! You don’t need to do anything different this month.

But if you’re new to supporting OSC and would like to begin giving regularly, click here to get started today. Simply enter an amount and then choose a recurring frequency (monthly, weekly, etc.) that works best for you. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps sustain the ministries and mission we share together.

And this year, as a small thank you, every Supporting Member will receive our new “Community Is Resistance” t-shirt, designed by OSC’s very own Operations Manager, Molly Marsh : )

Thank you so much for helping us build a community of love and liberation for all who need it here in North San Diego County and beyond.

With gratitude,

Revs Jenell & Jason Coker

Co-Lead Pastors

PS: If you’re already a Supporting Member, thank you! We are so very grateful for your generosity. You don’t have to do anything to re-commit. If you have questions about giving to OSC, please check out our Frequently Asked Questions About Giving to OSC. Our new t-shirts will be here in July!
