🌊 Join Us for a Zoom Meeting: Oceanside Sanctuary Migrant Response Team Updates and Planning Session

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We hope this message finds you well. The Oceanside Sanctuary Congregation's Migrant Response Team has been tirelessly working to support asylum seekers arriving in our community, and we are excited to invite you to our upcoming Zoom meeting to discuss updates and plan for our future endeavors.

📅 Date: October 4th

🕔 Time: 6:30 pm

📍 Location: Zoom Meeting (Link Below)

At the heart of our mission is the belief that every individual, regardless of their background, deserves compassion, dignity, and a helping hand. Asylum seekers often arrive in our city with nothing but hope for a better life, and it is our privilege to assist them in their time of need.

During our Zoom meeting, we will:

  1. Share Updates: Hear about the recent activities and achievements of our Migrant Response Team.

  2. Discuss Future Plans: Brainstorm ideas and strategies for more effective assistance to asylum seekers.

  3. Volunteer Opportunities: Learn how you can get involved and make a meaningful impact.

  4. Fundraising Initiatives: Explore ways to support our initiatives financially.

How you can help OSC's response the migrant crisis

How you can help OSC's response the migrant crisis

We want to update you on OSC’s involvement in the ongoing migrant crisis unfolding across San Diego County and how you can help with this urgent situation. Estimates are that over 7,000 asylum seekers have been dropped by Border Patrol at transit centers around the County over the past two weeks. On average, about 100 migrants are being dropped at the Oceanside Transit Center every day. This is likely to continue for several more weeks, if not months.

A Message for Children, Youth & Families of OSC!

If we have not gotten the chance to meet yet, my name is Claire and I am thrilled to serve as your Youth & Family Minister here at Oceanside Sanctuary. In the coming weeks, one of my goals is to reach out to each and every one of you - I want to get to know you and your family’s passions, questions, and needs so that we can continue the beautiful work of community among our kids, teenagers, and families at OSC.

Can you help with the Sunday welcome team?

Can you help with the Sunday welcome team?

We still have a few spots for volunteers on our Sunday welcome team! Members of this team serve about one Sunday per month. They create a welcoming environment by setting up the coffee cart, offering a friendly face for people as the arrive, and handing out bulletins and communion cups. We provide all the supplies, you just show up a little early once each months and help welcome people as they arrive.
