The Anti-Racism Team’s purpose is to help our church pursue its priority of becoming an antiracist congregation. That means learning about the reality of white supremacy, especially as it has been perpetuated by dominant forms of Christianity and stand for the liberation of people of color and other marginalized groups.

As we step into a new year at The Oceanside Sanctuary and a renewed vision and mission, you are invited to lean into community and help us cultivate a Christian spirituality “reclaiming its calling to be known for love, liberation, and the celebration of God’s image in all people.”
As we enter the New Year we are asking the question: What if the world we are hoping for – the world Jesus envisioned in his life and ministry – begins with how we live each and every day? At The Oceanside Sanctuary, we aren't just envisioning a better future, we believe in practicing it here and now.
Dear OSC family & friends, recent political events have made it painfully clear that our government can remove food assistance at a moment’s notice. A stalled budget, another government shutdown, or a single policy change can instantly leave families without the assistance they rely on.
Join us for a discussion with David Gushee, author of The Moral Teachings of Jesus, for our December Book Club Zoom: “The growing movement of post-evangelicalism highlights an opportunity to elevate and center the moral teachings of Jesus. So many of those who identify as Christian intuitively know that their old version of faith is no longer working, and they feel a theological vacuum.”
On November 21, 1875 thirteen pioneering souls started a small family church in a one-room schoolhouse near Mission San Luis Rey in what is now Oceanside, California. They called it simply, The Christian Church at San Luis Rey because it was one of the first congregations of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) denomination in Southern California.
The biblical narrative is often dominated by a few famous names, but what about the countless others whose stories are just as powerful? Join us starting Sunday, September 7th, at 10 am for our new fall teaching series that will explore the Bible in a whole new light.
We have some wonderful news to share about two new additions to the OSC staff: first we are excited to announce that long-time church member CJ Palmer is joining our staff as the part-time Interim Family Minister, helping guide and grow our programs for children and youth.
