Dear Church Family,
I have some wonderful news to share!
Five months ago, after an unsuccessful search for an OSC Kids Program Manager, I honestly felt like I had reached the end of my rope. I took a day to cry and pray.
During that time, I kept coming back to the idea that many hands make light work. Rather than relying on one person to carry our children's ministry, God seemed to be inviting us into a shared leadership model. Four volunteer Team Leaders, Madeline Rodriguez, Amanda Shore , Jessica Hampton and Noreen Alghannudi, stepped up in incredible ways, building community, supporting our teachers, and helping our ministry thrive.
At the same time, I continued to pray that someone would emerge who could be more present on Sundays and grow the program within this new leadership model.
Today, I am overjoyed to share that God has answered that prayer through one of those Team Leaders!
We are thrilled to announce Madeline Rodriguez has joined the OSC staff as our OSC Kids Program Manager.
Madeline Rodriguez, OSC Kids Program Manager
Madeline has not only shown her gifting through her time as a Team Leader but also holds a degree from Cal Poly Humboldt that has opened doors for her to work with kids throughout her career both in school and church settings. She is passionate about helping children experience the word of God made manifest through God's creation. As a member of our church, an OSC Kid's Team Leader, and a reader of progressive Christian voices, she already understands who we are and the kind of faith we hope to nurture in our children.
Please join me in welcoming Madeline Rodriguez to the OSC staff!
With gratitude,
Rev. Jenell Coker
